Full-time Islamic school located in Milton, Ontario. While MQI operates as a branch of Tarbiyah Schools, it functions independently with its own dedicated administration and operational structure. Age Requirements

For admission to each grade level, students must reach the following ages by December 31 of the academic year.

  • Pre-school: 3 years
  • Junior Kindergarten: 4 years
  • Senior Kindergarten: 5 years
  • Incoming first graders must turn 6 years of age by December 31, or have completed Senior Kindergarten at another school and pass our admission evaluation.
  • Incoming students who have completed any grade elsewhere will be placed on the basis of their age and an academic evaluation.

Curriculum

We believe the methods of interaction with children is a paramount source of not only developing them as good human beings but also impacting them to be responsible citizens. Although, principally based on the Ontario education system, the Tarbiyah curriculum has been formed by TES administration to inculcate vital components of Islamic teachings.We also focus on strong literacy and numeracy skills that are critical for academic achievement.

Ontario Curriculum

Our academic curriculum follows the fundamental expectations outlined in the Ministry of Ontario curriculum.

For Tarbiyah Elementary, ‘academic’ consists of the core subject areas; Language (English), Math, Science, Social Studies and Health.

These areas will be delivered keeping in mind the expectations; however, modifications and alterations will be made by the child’s teacher when fundamentals of Islam need to be addressed pertaining to topics covered.

Islamic Curriculum

Our Islamic curriculum is embedded in the teaching and learning of Quran, Arabic, and Islamic Studies.

Quran encompasses the memorization and retention of Quranic Surahs and Ayats.

Arabic encompasses the Arabic vocabulary and grammar.

Islamic studies encompasses various strands of Islam, such as Islamic History, Seerah of prophet Muhammad Salallaahu alayhi wassalaam, Prophets and Companions stories, Aqeedah, Salaah, Du’as and Fiqh.
